WASHINGTON

Venezuela will resume flights for deported migrants from the US on Friday, a senior US diplomat said Thursday.

"I am pleased to announce that Venezuela has agreed to resume flights to pick up their citizens who broke U.S. Immigration Laws and entered the U.S. illegally.

"The flights will resume Friday," Richard Grenell said on X.

His remarks came after media reports said Venezuela would stop taking deportees from the US in response to Washington’s decision to revoke oil company Chevron’s operating license in the South American country.

Last month, border czar Tom Homan said deportation flights from the US to Venezuela would begin "within the next 30 days."
